The Perceptions of Employees in Afyonkarahisar Sheep Enterprises on Factors Affecting the Animal Welfare

- In this study, it was aimed to determine the perceptions of employees regarding the factors that affect the animal welfare in sheep farm operations in Afyonkarahisar. Questionnaire was used as data collection method. In the study, a scale having 34 items belonging to five factors was developed in order to determine the perceptions of employees regarding the factors that affect the animal welfare. The questionnaire was performed for 177 employees in 103 sheep farms in 19 villages of Suhut, Emirdag, Çay and Sultandagı towns of Afyonkarahisar province. According to results of this study, the items, thought by the employees of sheep farms affecting the animal welfare in a maximum level were `personnel happiness and love one` job` and `relationship of sheep with their lambs`. In addition to this, it was determined that the employees of farm operations had no training on factors effecting animal welfare.
