Due to the rapid increase in the world population, studies are underway to search for alternative food sources for traditional food and feed additives. Antibiotics used as growth factors, together with the emergence of adverse effects on human and animal health it is prohibited from use in the European Union and Turkey. Increased demand for protein-rich foods has also led to the conclusion that alternative sources of protein should be sought. It is thought that some microorganisms can be produced in abundance and can be used directly as nutrients in order to close the protein deficit in the world. Human and animal nutrition as a source of protein from bacteria, yeast, fungi and algae is to benefit significantly. In addition, a number of industrial wastes are also used as fattening. Thus, by evaluating agricultural and industrial wastes, it is gained to the economy, environmental pollution can be prevented and equivalent protein production to high quality animal products is possible. The aim of this review is to give information about the importance of single cell protein for animal feeding and the studies on the use of rationality in ration.
