Studies of the effects of several feed rations on the finenness, staple length, kempy and medullated fibre percentage of Angora Goat kids mohair

- This study was done for to find out the effects of different rations on the fineness of the mohair fibre, staple length and thelpercentage of medullated and kempy fibres of 33 kids of female and 18 kids of male Angora goat kids at the Lalahan Animal Breeding Research Institute. There were, three main groups in our experiment. Each group was composed 11 female and 6 male kids.

During the period of experiment first group had a suplementary feed ration with the maintenance ration (high ration) and the second group had only maintenance freed ration (normal ration) and the third group has been in the districts pasture conditions. Each groups animals were weighed and of each month and the feed ration have not been changed.

The experiment continued from 20 th june 1960 until seventh of April 1961. The samples of mohair which were used for the experiment have been taken at the beginning of experiment (june 20,1960) middle of the experiment (October 20, 1960) and the and of experiment (April 7, 1961). The samples of mohair were taken from shoulders, sides and thing of the experimented animals, so the average fleece fineness was determined by thesee. Staple length of the animals was measured by the ruler on the same dates. Keywords :
