A comparative study on the morphologie and physiologie characters of Karacabey Montafon and purebred Montafon

Body measurements of 40 Karacabey Montafonsand 34 purebred Montafon cows were taken and weighted. Statistical averages standard deviations variances and `t` test of als measures were computed by using biometric methods. All computed data showed in table 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Body size of Karacabey Montafon were found slightly larger than purebred Montafons.

Both breed were found over the desired degree of uniformity, according biometric measures.

Slight advantage of Karacabey Montafon were especially observed on about all measures of heartgirths.

Karacabey Montafon herd also has slightly more advantage over purebred montafons about yearly average milk, butterfat productions and length of lactation on this study. Keywords :
