- Angora goat breeding has a great economic importance in our animal Industry. The bucks can be chosen as sires when they become one year old according to their mohair fleece characters in this country. In this study early selection possibilities have been searched by comparing the early age skin sample examination results to one year old mohair fleece characters in Angora goat male kids which sires to be in the future.

32 heads of male Angora goat kids were used for the experiment. The kids were 1965 birth dated and were separated at random from the flock of Lalahan Animal Breeding and Research Station.

Skin samples were collected from each animal when they were three months old and six months old from the shoulder region of their bodies. The results of the skins examinations histologicaly and one year old mohair fleece characters were compared and the following results have been fixed;

There were significant statistical differences between the two periods (Three moths and six months old) S/P rations, mean primary fibre diameters and P/S rations.

Significiant correlations were found between the follicle and fibre characters were as follows;

Significiant multiple correlation cooefficient (R = + 0.521) was found between three months old, six months old total (P + S) mean follicle number per unit area of skin and one year old greasy fleece weight,

Significiant multiple correlation coefficient (R = + 0.486) was found between the three months old, six months old total (P + S) mean follicle fibre diameters in the skin and one year old mean fibre diameter. Keywords :
