ANKARA KEÇİLERİNDE TİFTİĞİN BÜYÜMESİ ÜZERİNDE ARAŞTIRMA
To enlighten the states of these factors we have made studies on the Angora goats of different ages present at our Institution. As a result of our studies we have found the fallowing facts;
In mohairs the rate of growth is the highest in september. Which is the sixth month of shearing. Up to the sixth month of shearing the yearly rate of growth is more than the other months. Beginning with the sixth month it decreases gradually. Between the 5 th 6 th and 7 th months of shearing there are biometrical differences whereas during the last months there are none. In october the rate of growth in the old is higher in comparison with the young ones. In kids the rate of growth is higher on the fifth month of shearing than in other groups. In bucks because of early shearing the rate of growth is the highest in august, which is the sixth month of shearing. In september and october the rate of growth of mohair in does (female goats) is higher than in bucks. It has been observed that in aged does the 63.25 %, in 4-5 year old to es 65.26 %, in 3 year old does 55.45 %, in one year old female foats 54.26 % of the yearly staple growths have obtained during the last eight months. In the young the rate of growth is higher during the first months of shearing than in the old.
