Model animal use is the best methodology that gives the closest results to the real situation in health sciences and biological studies. In these studies, due to their various advantages, laboratory animals are used. There are conventional and IVC (individually ventilated cages) cages for the laboratory animals which are produced for that purpose. While the animals are fed by standardized diets in conventional cages, they are fed by sterilized feeds in hepa filtered and full protected systems such as IVC. In Turkey, because of the costs, instead of sterilized special feeds, sterilization of the standardized feeds by autoclave is the most preferred method in IVCs. In this study, common problems and possible solutions in the production, storage and supply of laboratory animals diet in our country will be discussed in the framework of animal nutrition science.
