The Production Parameters and Economic Efficiencies of Different Genotypes in Broiler Enterprises in Bursa Province and its Near Vicinity
Data were obtained on 15 broiler enterprises spread over Bursa and near vicinity selected randomly. The analysis of the enterprises showed that the rearing period of the broiler chickens was 44.7 days, feed conversion ratio was 2.07, the avarage of body weight at slaughter was 1808 g, mortality rate was 8.86 percent and performance index was 180.28. For Avian Farm, Hybro, Ross and Cobb 500 genotypes of the enterprises, the rearing period were found 44, 45, 46 and 45 days, the average body weight at slaughter were found 1782, 1832, 1876 and 1797 g, the feed conversion ratio for the genotypes were calculated 2.05, 2.09, 1.99 and 2.11, the mortality rate for the genotypes were determinated 8.61, 9.21, 7.45 and 10.62 percentage, the performance index of the genotypes were calculated as 180, 182, 192 and 171, respectively.
Total cost was taken as the sum of total variable cost and total fixed cost. The variable and fixed cost in broiler enterprises were found 91.64 and 8.36 percent for commercial enterprises, 56.75 and 43.25 percent for contract-grower enterprises, respectively.
