In this review, the reproductive organs of queen and drone bees and mating behaviour were described. However,
after explaining the necessity and the importance of artificial insemination in honey bee breeding programmes, the
development of artificial insemination technique was presented. Detailed explanations were made on the artificial
insemination and several factors affecting insemination results.
