¹ Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Zootekni Anabilim Dalı, Afyon-Türkiye - Sheep breeding, which has been doing extensively is commonly prefered for the low production costs. Keeping the rams continuously in the flock during and before the breeding season which is one of the critical period of the breeding program restricts benefiting the animals accurately. Accurate usage of the ram effect may let the ewes either show synchronized estrus and conception or synchronized lambing. With the advantage of being inexpensive, of easy application and free from causing problems of animal feeds, ram effect could be useful to increase the efficiency of breeding.
