The Effect of Estrous Cow Serum and Fetal Calf Serum on In vitro Embryo Production
2 Ankara Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Fizyolji Anabilim Dalı - The aim of this study was to compare influence of estrous cow sera (ECS) and fetal calf sera (FCS) on in vitro embryo production. Oocytes were selected and used as morphologically A and B quality grade in this study. Estrous Cow Serum was added in the maturation media 5%, 10% and 20%. The same proportions of FCS were added in the control groups. Embryos were cultured up to morula-blastocyst stage. Data were tested by two way ANOVA. The proportion of coming into morulae-blastocyst stage were 0.12±0.023, 0.15±0.023, 0.15±0.020 for ECS and 0.17±0.036, 0.24±0.045, 0.19±0.025 for FCS for 5%, 10% and 20% levels, respectively.
As a result, the effect of fetal calf sera (FCS) was superior than estrous cow sera (ECS) for in vitro development into morulae-blastocyst stage of bovine oocytes.
