This study was examined that aflatoxine (AFL), ochratoxin A (OA) and zearalenone (ZEA)
contamination in roughage feeds which are used in public and private farms in Turkey between 2001 and 2004.
ELISA kit was used for mycotoxine analyse. Totally 145 of roughage feed samples which were collected from
different regions of Turkey, were examined for AFL contamination and 90 of these samples (62.07 %) were
given possitive result (2.00-214.80 μg/kg). It was observed that levels of AFL contamination was found the
highest levels in Aegean and Mediterranean regions compare with the other regions and the contamination was
more intensive in 2001 (71.59 %) then 2003 (36.84 %). 101 roughage feeds were examined for OA
contamination and 66 of them (65.35%) (2.10-168.00 μg/kg) were given positive results. As a result, OA
contamination was more intensive in feed from Karadeniz region. OA contamination was more intensive in 2001
(72.50 %) than in 2003 (22.22 %). 70 roughage feeds were examined for ZEA contamination and 21 of them
(30.00%) (50.00-442.60 μg/kg) were given possitive results. As a result, ZEA contamination was more in feed
from Akdeniz and Karadeniz region. The ZEA contamination was more intensive in 2002 (36.36 %) then 2003
(20.00 %).
