This study was carried out to determine some production characteristics of Karagül sheep kept as stock
flocks in farmer conditions between 2005-2008 years. Lambing rate, lamb production and litter size were
determined as 91 %, 95 % and 1.04, respectively. The differences between 2 years old ewes and the other age
groups for lambing rates were significantly important (P<0.05). The survival rates of live born lambs were
determined as 96, 94 and 90 % for 90, 120 and 180 days of age, respectively. The least squares means of the live
weights of the lambs at birth, 120th and 180th days were 3.13, 22.60 and 24.62 kg, respectively. The means in
adult females and males were 42.95 and 48.40 kg for body weights after shearing, 1.84 and 2.19 kg for greasy
fleece weights, 37.99 and 38.78 μm (P<0.01) for fiber diameter, 7.13 and 7.43 cm for stable length,
respectively.
