¹ Ankara Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Dölerme ve Suni Tohumlama ABD Dışkapı/Ankara - Sperm, egg and embryo cryopreservations have been widely used in so many species. These applications have been also used in aquaculture species in recently. First successful fish sperm cryopreservation was made by Blaxter in 1953 in herring fish. After this, marine fish sperm cryopreservation has been attempted about 50 species. Under 0°C conditions, spermatozoa can be stored for a few hours up to several days, depending on the species. Cryopreserved gametes can be theoretically stored for many years without deleterious effect. In aquaculture use of cryopreserved spermatazoa has lots of advantages such as reduction of disease transition risk, attainment hybrid larvae, selection for desirable characters for similar fishes. In this article, sperm, egg and embriyo cryopreservation in marine fish were reviewed. Keywords : Cryopreservation, Egg, Embryo, Marine fish, Sperm
