- This study aimed to assess the applicability of cluster analysis, one of the multivariate statistical analyses.

The data were recorded from the herd of Angora goat which was reared in Lalahan Livestock Research Institute between 1989-1997 years. The data were standardised for age before analysis. Single Linkage Method of Cluster analysis, which is the most commonly used procedure of the cluster analysis methods, was practised in terms of mohair traits (diameter, length, crimp, flexibility and strength) for each year and sex. The results were presented with dendograms.

It was observed that Angora goats have showed 4-7 cluster by using cluster analysis, and the female Ankara goats tended to form into clusters less, and exhibited more homogeneous patterns, whereas, the male goats showed more clusters in number, and the differences between the groups were more pronounced.
