¹ Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi, Doğum ve Jinekoloji Anabilim Dalı, SAMSUN - Buffalo milk has some superiority on cattle milk with the aspects of its taste and products such as mozzarella cheese and curly cream. Buffalo milk is in a short supply due to lower milk yield and breeding in small scale family operations. In this connection, mastitis is very important and dangerous disease for dairy industry. However, there are very few studies on mastitis for water buffalos. This review will touch upon the importance of buffalo milk, etiology and diagnosis of mastitis in buffalos, and its impacts on the milk production. Keywords : Buffalo, milk, mastitis
