- The purpose of this study was to investigate body weights after shearing and fleece traits of Acıpayam sheep. The data were collected from 99 head of Acıpayam sheep raised at Bala State farm. The data were analysed with least squares method. The least squares means for body weights after shearing, greasy fleece weight, fiber diameter, staple length (H and B), breaking strength and fiber elasticity were determined as 54.6 kg, 3.1 kg, 34.7 μm, 37.7 and 59.8 mm, 19.0 g and 30.4 %, respectively. As a result, the fleece quality of Acıpayam sheep was suitable for carpet industry. Keywords : Acıpayam, Body Weight, Sheep, Fleece Traits
